The Employment Resource Centre offers eligible employers the possibility of receiving Wage Subsidies when hiring bilingual persons.

TARGETED WAGE SUBSIDIES

Program Objectives

· To assist unemployed Employment Insurance eligible individuals experiencing difficulty in finding work to benefit from on-the-job work experience; and

· To enable employers to hire individuals who face barriers to employment by offering temporary wage subsidies, which they would not otherwise hire.

Eligibility:

- Private enterprises, not-for-profit organizations, municipal governments, public health and teaching institutions, and band/tribal councils are eligible.

- Provincial/Territorial Governments (government departments and agencies may be eligible for funding and act as employers or activities coordinators if a contract or an article of federal-provincial-territorial agreement has been authorized expressly by the Minister of Service Canada).
