
Funded by the Ministry of Training,
Colleges and Universities, this free program assists
individuals between the ages of 16 - 24. The ACFO
of London-Sarnia also serves adult francophones and
internationally trained individuals. This program
is a link between job seekers and potential employers:
We provide Information and Resource Services
(IRS), Employment Planning and Preparation (EPP),
and Job Development and Placement Support (JDPS).
For job seekers,
the Program provides these services:
1. Information and Orientation
2. Employment Planning and Preparation (EPP)
3. Placement Support
It helps:
· access to information on
different careers and professions
· explore the local job market
· learn about training opportunities
· learn about job search strategies
· determine short and long
term goals
· establish a budget
· identify your job search
needs
· refinine your skills
· acquire work experience
· gain on-the-job training
experience
· gain experience through
volunteer work
· participate in paid work
placement
Admissibility criteria:
· be a Canadian citizen, landed
immigrant, or a person holding a work permit
· be at least 16 years old
· be out of work or under-employed
· be out of school or not
receiving Employment Insurance benefits

employers…
You will have access to a database of
experienced, competent and often highly qualified
persons who thrive on new challenges. You may be eligible
for a wage subsidy towards the cost of training of
the participant(s) you are recruiting.

for your employees
- demonstrate your capacity to provide proper supervision
and training as described in the training guide
- comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
and Ontario Labour Standards

SUMMER
JOBS SERVICE (SJS):
The Summer Jobs Service provides assistance to students
between the ages of 15 - 24 who are planning to return
to school in the fall. They have direct access to
summer jobs offered by participating employers. Students
also have the opportunity to participate in workshops
to acquire job search techniques and self-promotion
knowledge and skills. This program provides a $2/hour
hiring incentive for employers. It is available from
April to September.
For the Job seekers :
Admissibility criteria :
- be between the ages of 15 - 24 (up
to 29 for a person with a disability)
- not currently working for an employer who applied
for the subsidy
- will be returning to school in the fall
- live in Ontario
- allowed to work in Ontario
